USE CASE · PHARMACEUTICALS & CHEMICALS
Every lot tracked. Every fake caught.
Lot-level control, tamper-evident QR authentication, and expiry management for Africa's most regulated products.
THE CHALLENGE
The stakes in pharma
The WHO estimates up to 30% of medicines in some African markets are substandard or falsified. Ghanaian pharmaceutical manufacturers face:
- !
Counterfeit versions of their products in the market — damaging brand credibility and patient safety.
- !
FDA Ghana requiring documented lot control and batch release records.
- !
Expiry tracking across hundreds of SKUs managed on paper.
- !
Hospital and pharmacy buyers demanding traceability before bulk purchase.
ANTI-COUNTERFEIT TECHNOLOGY
How QR anti-counterfeit works
Every pharmaceutical unit receives a unique, one-time-scan QR code. The first scan confirms authenticity and logs location and timestamp. Any subsequent scan of the same code — a copied label — triggers an "Already Verified — Possible Counterfeit" alert. The system records the duplicate scan location, allowing the manufacturer to identify exactly where counterfeits are entering the supply chain.
